Inpatient Coder

What you’d do

Assigns diagnostic and procedure codes to inpatient encounters based on documentation in the electronic medical record, keeping to established rules and regulatory guidelines. You’ll need

• Associate's degree or higher in a CAHIIM accredited program, or 2 extra years of experience
• One of the listed coding credentials required
• 1 year of relevant inpatient coding experience, or completion of HM Coding Apprentice Program or Out
• Inpatient medical coding
• Electronic medical record documentation review
