Jobs I Know

Where our jobs come from

Every job here comes from one of three places, and each one says which. Last updated October 2026.

Employers’ own career sites

Most jobs are read from employers’ public career sites, following each site’s robots.txt rules. We check every one every four hours. When the employer takes a job down, so do we, and a job that’s been up for over nine months comes down too. We don’t list a job that was already over a month old when we found it, except internships and entry-level jobs, which we list up to nine months old, since campus hiring opens months ahead. What you read about a job here is our short summary. The employer’s listing has the full details.

Federal jobs, from USAJOBS

Federal jobs come from USAJOBS, the U.S. government’s official job site, through its public API, which we use under the USAJOBS API Terms of Service.

  • Every federal job is marked From USAJOBS, with the date we found it and the date we last checked it there. We check every four hours.
  • Apply on USAJOBS opens the job’s official announcement. You apply there, following its instructions. Jobs I Know never sends or receives applications, and opening a job here doesn’t mean an application was sent.
  • What you read here about a federal job is our own summary, not the announcement’s official text. The official announcement is the final word on the job and how to apply, so check it before you apply.
  • Agency names say who’s hiring. They don’t mean an agency is connected to us.

Jobs I Know is an independent, unofficial service. It isn’t operated, sponsored, approved or endorsed by USAJOBS, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), or any other federal agency.

If a federal job reads differently here than on USAJOBS, USAJOBS is right. Tell us at contact@jobsiknow.com and we’ll fix it.

People who know about a job

Members post openings they know about, marked with how they know: they work there, they know someone who does, or they saw it posted. Anyone can report a posting that doesn’t look right.

Pay comparisons

Typical pay for a job comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, for the same work in the same area. The Bureau doesn’t endorse Jobs I Know either.
