How long they’ve really been open
Of the 21,154 with a posting date from the employer, half have been open 26 days or less. 1,095 have been open over 90 days, and 1,137 were taken down and put back up at least once. A job that keeps coming back is often still unfilled, or not really being filled.

How we count
- Every open job on the board, read from employers’ own career sites and USAJOBS and checked every four hours. Jobs come down when the employer takes them down.
- Entry level and internship are read from each job’s title (“Intern”, “New Grad”, “Engineer I”, “Junior”) or, where the title doesn’t say, from the listing’s own words about experience. Jobs that ask for years of experience, or are senior, aren’t counted.
- Time open is measured from the employer’s own posting date, where its site gives one.
- Covers the US cities and regions Jobs I Know reads, plus remote jobs open anywhere in the US. It isn’t every job in the country. Where our jobs come from.
